Alternative Bad Breath Cures

Bad breath can be broadly classified into two main categories – Halitosis and common foul breath. Among these two, Halitosis is more staid and the bad odor produced is more pronounced. Halitosis could be an indication of any infection within the body. However, both types of bad breath are infuriating and awkward, and thus bad breath cures are imperative. Although the most important cure is proper oral hygiene, you will discover many effective cures exist beyond this.

The most effectual of all bad breath cures entails eradicating the bacteria producing gasses within the mouth that lead to a mal-smelling breath. Sulfur gas is the main cause of this odor, which is generally linked to Halitosis.

In the case of Halitosis, the person has sporadic foul breath, meaning it comes and goes. Chronic Halitosis treatment is much longer and intense. It includes more frequent brushing and flossing plus a regular use of a tongue scrapper to scrap off the bacteria deposit in the crevices and cracks under and on the tongue. Along with this, treatment include being more cautious about the eating habits for example avoiding food such as onion, bell peppers and garlic, etc.

Whether you have acute or chronic Halitosis, bad breath cures need to be followed consistently or else this problem will not be eliminated permanently. Some of the most simple and effective treatments include rinsing the mouth with mouthwash that containing thymol oil and eucalyptol oils that is extracted from the thyme and eucalyptus plants. These herbs work remarkably well for annihilating the bacteria accumulated within our mouth. But avoid using any mouthwash containing amino acid cysteine as it could worsen the problem.

There are also some supplements that have been proven to work great as bad breath cures for both common oral odor and that of Halitosis. A few of the more common ones are vitamins C and E, folic acid, zinc and coenzyme Q10. In fact, there are many top brand tooth pastes available these days containing zinc, which certainly would be a good choice.

If the problem of Halitosis persists or worsens, it could be an indication that your body is dealing with some or other type of infection or inflammation. In such situation, you must follow a stricter diet or take antibiotics. In chronic Halitosis situation, you must visit your doctor and get it treated there.

Inexpensive All Natural Bad Breath Cures

If you’re looking for natural bad breath cures that are both inexpensive and are easy to follow, well then look no further. You have found what you’re looking for. I’m going to share with you a few of the simple, easy to use, but very effective bad breath cures and treatments that I have discovered while doing research on the subject of halitosis, its causes and remedies. In doing my research one problem kept coming up. There are a lot of disgruntled people who are tired of spending their hard earned cash buying product after product that promises them clean fresh breath, only to find out they have been ripped off again. While the causes of bad breath differs with each person, you can rest assured that armed with the proper information you can defeat your breath problems and be on your way to fresh breath in no time.

Oral hygiene habits are very important with any cure you try. If you don’t brush your teeth, tongue, cheeks, and gums at least twice a day you are doomed to fail. My dentist has a neat little sign hanging in his office that reads “Your teeth are a wonderful part of the body, but if you ignore them long enough, they will go away.” Think about it for a minute. Let that sink in just a little. Brushing is probably the single most important step to achieving your goal. If you are strapped for time and can’t brush then at least rinse your mouth out with clean fresh water a minimum of three times. This will wash away most food particles from around your teeth as well as washing away some odor causing bacteria from your mouth.

Most mouthwashes contain alcohol and can dry your mouth out or they can actually chemically burn some of your skin cells in your mouth. This may cause some discomfort in some. If this is the case for you, try using a homemade all natural mouthwash you can make yourself. Take two cups of fresh clean water heat to a boil; add a few mint leaves or a few drops of mint extract. Put in three whole cloves; drop in a couple of parsley leaves as well. Now add a green tea bag and steep for five minutes. Use this solution to gargle after your meals. You can also use a solution of baking soda and water. You can add a few drops of lemon or mint extract for a better flavor. Gargle with this solution a few times a day and you will notice a marked improvement. Saltwater gargling helps quite a bit, especially when your mouth is sore. Cranberry juice will cleanse the mouth for a short time, but even better the cranberry juice actually helps to dissolve the plaque from your teeth.

Peppermint leaves and oil are very good home remedies for bad breath as are parsley leaves. Chewing mint or parsley leaves does a great job of killing the bacteria associated with halitosis. The peppermint oil works in much the same way but with an added benefit. The oil coats the inside of the mouth and helps to keep it moist. This guards against dry mouth, which is another leading cause of bad breath. In closing there is a lot of good information available to help you in your quest in curing bad breath. Don’t settle for just covering you bad breath smell with mints. They only work for a short time. There are several bad breath cures to choose from. One will work for you.
